PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Many authors and self-taught individuals agree that the primary cause of failure in managing a wounded game search is a lack of expertise. The Scenthound Program is designed for handlers with basic skills in this field. The training is specific to scenthounds and comprises 11 courses, consisting of a total of 28 video lessons delivered by 23 experienced professionals. Learning materials include a manual, exercises to complete with your dog, case studies, assessments, and a final exam. OBJECTIVES To equip students with a thorough understanding of wounded animal search strategies, enabling them to align basic handler skills and scenthound training with the objectives of a legal approach. The aim is to explore how to plan, conduct, and monitor each research project to ensure both its success and animal welfare (minimizing suffering). Each of these three modules has a specific objective that will allow you to assess your learning.
